Adopted in 1944 as a cheaper, simpler answer to the Thompson, the M3A1 "Grease Gun" went on to arm US infantry, tank crews and military police for over fifty years — through Vietnam, into the Gulf War, in some cases longer. This airsoft AEG captures the stamped-tube receiver, retractable wire stock and slow rhythmic full-auto fire of the original, in full metal.
Walk onto a WW2 airsoft event with an M3A1 and you stand out instantly — most players carry Thompsons or BARs, very few carry the Greaser. For reenactors of late-war, Korea or Vietnam era US forces this rifle is the missing piece of the loadout, and on the modern airsoft field it's a heavy, full-metal SMG that handles CQB beautifully thanks to its 508 mm collapsed length and 3150 g weight.
The original M3A1 only fires full-auto on a slow, rhythmic cycle — and so does this replica. No semi-auto switch, no fire mode selector, just a thumb-operated bolt cover that doubles as the safety. It's a quirk that defines the weapon, and it's preserved here exactly.
Want the iconic US service rifle? See the M1 Garand AEG real wood (€479) — Patton's "greatest battle implement ever devised," 1.64 J, full metal, completes any WWII American loadout.
